Marie joined Francis Lawyers in 1988, after a successful career as a French and German language Teacher. Marie’s practice focuses on family law, real estate, and wills and estates administration

Marie represents clients in divorce and separation proceedings, both contested and uncontested. She is well versed on issues pertaining to custody and access, child and spousal support, and the equalization of family property. She also assists clients in preparing marriage, cohabitation, and separation agreements.

As part of her wills and estates practice, Marie ensures that clients have a proper succession plan in place, with her extensive knowledge and experience preparing testamentary trusts, in particular, “Henson Trusts” for the benefit of individuals under a disability.

As a lawyer who practices both family and real estate law, Marie is also able to assist clients with all residential real estate transactions which may arise. She prides herself on her close rapport with her clients and offers services in English, French, and German.



Education

Marie obtained a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Languages and Literature from the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.

Hobbies

When not in the office, Marie enjoys walking, reading, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and singing with the Ottawa Concordia Choir.
